The Illinois Special Olympics Summer Games were canceled to protect the athletes and supporters, but Alex Gara and Andy Zimmerman were not to be deterred. They decided to play the longest game of bocce in world history and stream it live to bocce and Special Olympics fans across the country. Of the course of the 12 hour game, the fans sent $10,000 in pledges, all of which are going to Special Olympics Illinois in an effort to bring the athletes and supporters an event they can be proud of in 2020.
Thank you to all the supporters. We are truly blown away.
