Members and guests of Plantation Country Club in Boise, Idaho have gravitated to two brand new bocce courts recently and a bocce culture has blossomed as a result.
Completion on the pristine bocce courts wrapped up just as COVID-19 forced everyone into quarantine earlier this spring. However, with a careful sanitation plan in place and the use of online booking, members and guests took to the courts with a dedication and intrigue, as soon as it was safe.
Fast forward to now, and the club has it's first bocce ball league going and sold it out in a matter of days forcing the club to open a second night to league play. Gino Pilato aka Amico Gino aka Oddballino Gino has taken the reins in teaching members and guests out at Plantation the American Bocce Company way of play, and people can't get enough of the timeless sport.
Pilato is running both league nights and has penciled in another six week league to follow this first edition and a two-day weekend member guest tournament this September.
Players enjoy craft beer, wine, and pizza on league nights.
Bocce nation has arrived in Boise, Idaho.
